Does all Catahoula's have a glass eye?

     No.  All Catahoula's do not have a glass eye but are common in this breed.  The puppies opens their eyes around 2 weeks old and that is when we will know what eye color they have. 

What is the average size of a Catahoula Leopard Cur?

      On average, a female will be 22 inches and weigh around 55 - 65 lbs.  A male will be on average 24 inches and weigh around 65 - 75 lbs.

Would a Catahoula be a good family dog?

     Yes.  Catahoula's are energetic dogs.  They love attention and to be able to run around and play.  The more attention you give them, the happier the dog will be.

 Is a Catahoula a hunting and working dog?

     Yes.  This is what a Catahoula does best.  They can be trained to retrieve ducks, trailing blood trails, work cattle, hog hunting and the list can go on. 

Would a Catahoula be a good guard dog?

     Yes.  Catahoula's are naturally protective.  They are territorial and will protect their area.  Catahoula's can also be trained to be guard dogs.
